The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research ( JIPMER ) situated in the town of Puducherry at India which was founded in 1956. It is situated under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Indian government . JIPMER is well famous as under graduate (MBBS), post graduate (MD/MS), super-speciality (DM/MCh) medical colleges and research institute along with B.Pharm & Ph.D courses.
The institute has sophisticated instrumentation facilities with multi specialties fully equipped laboratories, well furnished class rooms and teaching hospital with more than 2000 beds to train the students qualitatively. It values education, which in all its levels stresses research, innovation and community health with several outreach units for vulnerable groups. JIPMER has a policy whereby admission to its programs is determined by performance on national level exams. It shares the vision of JIPMER to be a centre of excellence in both academia and medical science.
