National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entrance examination in India for students who want to enter undergraduate medical, dental, and AYUSH programmes leading to MBBS, BDS or Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery. Called the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET is conducted by the National Testing Agency or NTA and is of offline or pen-paper mode and assesses knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Biology based on classes XI and XII syllabus. It is based on the syllabus prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training or NCERT .Traditionally held in May, it is compulsory for almost all medical courses in India.

The eligibility standards for NEET 2025 determine the entry requirements for MBBS BDS students and other candidates who wish to study medical courses in India. Applicants need to finish their 10+2 studies with Physics Chemistry Biology as their main subjects or should be completing these subjects. Students who have reached 17 years old can seek admission and aspiring candidates do not need to fulfill a maximum age requirement. The minimum required marks for NEET candidates exist for every category.
Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English must have been the relevant subject of Class 12 for the candidates.

NEET 2025 will be an offline exam with 200 multiple type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). It is paper based, has 720 marks on the +4/-1 scale table and takes 3 hours 20minutes.

The candidate who has done the registration for the NEET UG 2025 can download the admit card for the admission seeker. The students’ name, the address of the examination centre, the time at which the UG NEET exam will be held, and other information will be printed on the admit card of NEET UG 2025.
All students are required to the examination centre with admit card and a passport size photograph or photo ID. NEET can cause a problem to the candidates who fail to bring it to the exam center in the form of admit card, making them to be locked out from exam attempt.
NOTE: A candidate will not be permitted to sit for the Examination Centre, on date and time other mentioned in the Admit Card.
For instance, if the exam is difficult, candidates require a minimum passing mark, the number of available seats, and total sitting candidates for the NEET UG 2025 exam. General category 50% General-PH 45% and reserved categories: 40%. Seat allocation of NEET counselling makes merit lists of candidates who are entitled for the counselling rounds. NEET UG 2025 cut off will act as a basis for preparing a variety of merit lists.
