Kasturba Medical College ( KMC ), Manipal the first private medical college in India was started was in the year 1953 with an initial annual intake of 60 students and present annual intake is 250 students and the college is recognized by medical council of India and affiliated to Manipal University, Karnataka. It provides MBBS, MD, MS, DM, MCh degree and various diploma courses for its students. KMC is well equipped with world standard infrastructure like well equipped labs, simulation centers and well stocked library.

The college is affiliated to a number of hospitals where the students can implement theoretical knowledge into practical coursework.
