The eligibility criteria for JEE Mains 2026 are as follows:
1. Educational Qualification: The candidates should have cleared the Class 12th from a recognized board.
2. Mandatory Subjects: Physics and Mathematics are mandatory, while Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Technical vocational Subject must be taken to Class 12.
3. Age Limit: According to the current eligibility criteria of JEE Main there is no upper as well as lower age limit for the applicants. The age requirement should also be met by candidates as that involves the institutes they are in.
4. Number of Attempts: A candidate can sit for JEE Main for a maximum of six occasions in three years, and the attempt can be two in a year.
5. Qualifying Marks: There is no minimum percentage stipulated by JEE Main but a candidate must_scores at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics aggregate together in their qualifying examination. But to get into NITs/IIITs/CFTIs minimum 75 percentage marks (65% for SC/ST) in class XII or candidate must be in the top 20 percentile of their board.
6. Nationality: It’s open for Indian citizens, PIO/OCI cardholders and foreign nationals therefore.
